Life on the Farm

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 19, 2006, 7:09 AM
So I just got back from our 2-yearly family reunion, held at the ever-famous "jimmy's goat farm". To my surprise i can't help but feel that the older we get the more fun we have together - not only do i get along better with the aunts and uncs, but what used to seem like huge age-gaps between cousins, don't seem so big anymore.
As usual we rode the ute, chased goats/cows/horses/pigs & anything else we could find, drove the buggy, started fires, played 'time's up!', slept in the shed, got lost in the woods and climbed the mountains. Sure we seem to do the same things at every reunion, but when it's been two years since you've hung out with these guys, no matter what you end up doing for those 3 days together you know you're going to have the time of you're life. You just can't appreciate what it's like on the farm until you've been there - words and pictures don't do it justice!
One thing that was different this year was that (for the first time) all the cousins around our age were actually old enough to drink. Of course we had to take advantage of this and (knowing none of the aunts or uncs would approve) decided to sneak in a bottle or 2 of vodka and some mudshakes for the girls. We got it all planned out, got mum on our side and didn't even lie to uncle jim. Before we knew it we'd snuck down to 'fairy glen' and were drinking around the camp fire. Good times good times, got a few bruises to show for that night..
But most importantly! This trip was a wonderful opportunity to take some more photos, and to my surprise there's actually quite a few i'm anxious to upload. Particularly of the sunrise...by golly that was amazing..
Well i'll be back in the next few days to upload those pics, so keep you're eyes peeled kids...
Until then take care, and get some sleep.
